Abstract : In this talk we will try to answer the question: If P is a polynomial of degree d, and P(x_1,\ldots,x_n) \geq 0 at everypoint of \mathbb{R}^{n}, must P then be a sum of squares(finite sum of squares of polynomials)? The talk is based on a paper “Sums of Squares of Polynomials” by Rudin.
